About Jaguar Land Rover & the Halewood Manufacturing Site
As part of its Reimagine strategy, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is leading the transformation of the automotive industry with a focus on electrification, digital innovation, and data-driven services. With an ambitious vision to deliver modern, luxury experiences to clients, JLR is enhancing its in-house data capabilities, a cornerstone of its ongoing digital transformation. Committed to sustainability, JLR aims to achieve carbon net zero across its supply chain, products, and operations by 2039.
A standout in this transformation is the Halewood plant in Merseyside. Known across the industry for its excellence in lean manufacturing and consistent quality, Halewood has been pivotal in JLR's journey since its establishment by Ford in 1963. Now, as part of JLR's roadmap to a sustainable future, Halewood is set to become JLR’s first all-electric plant—a significant milestone in their commitment to the electric era. Additionally, JLR has set science-based targets to cut emissions across its operations and value chains by 2030, with electrification at the heart of this strategy. By the end of the decade, pure electric models will be introduced across the Range Rover, Discovery, and Defender lines, while Jaguar will become an entirely electric brand.
